Job summary

STARC Systems is seeking an Assembly Technician to support a range of production tasks on the shop floor, emphasizing safety, quality, and efficiency. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in production/manufacturing/assembly preferred with on-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to read work orders, drawings, BOMs, and SOPs.
  • Basic math and measurement with tape measure/calipers.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools is a plus.

Description

The Assembly Technician performs a variety of production tasks in a manufacturing and assembly environment, contributing to the timely delivery of high-quality products to our customers. This role supports primary assembly operations, secondary machining, quality inspection, and general production floor activities. The Assembly Technician works across all production areas as assigned and plays a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and operational efficiency on the shop floor.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform all required production tasks, including assembly, machine operation, packing, and inspection.
  • Perform primary and secondary assembly operations across all product lines.
  • Operate secondary machining equipment including saws, drill press, and other manufacturing machinery.
  • Clean and pack finished product to shipping standards.
  • Support production scheduling by completing assigned work orders accurately and on time.
  • May be asked to obtain certification to operate a forklift.
  • Includes other duties as assigned that are relevant to the role and in support of company needs.
Quality & Inspection
  • Inspect materials, components, and finished products to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Maintain quality standards, process parameters, and other indicators to ensure all components and finished products conform to quality specifications.
  • Identify and communicate non-conforming product or process deviations to the Assembly Technician Lead or Shift Supervisor.
  • Follow all documented work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality checklists.
Inventory & Workplace Standards
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw and semi-finished goods via Kanbans and restock promptly to avoid production interruptions.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized production work environment through consistent application of the 5S program.
  • Report material shortages or discrepancies to the Production Coordinator in a timely manner.
Safety & Compliance
  • Embrace and comply with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company employee guidelines.
  • Participate in safety training, toolbox talks, and incident reporting as required.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times in designated areas.
  • Supports and models STARC Systems values and mission.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior experience in a production, manufacturing, or assembly environment preferred; on-the-job training will be provided as required.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, assembly drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and standard operating procedures.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.).
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, and basic manufacturing equipment a plus.

Schedule And Compensation

This is a second shift position with hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at STARC Systems.

The noise level in the production environment is typically moderate to high; hearing protection may be required in designated areas. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This role is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, tools, and materials.
