Job summary

JN White in New York is seeking an Assembly Technician to assemble switches, panels, and other components, operate laminators and presses, and maintain production equipment to meet customer specifications.

You will follow blueprints, inspect materials, document production records, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and efficiency. This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a strong emphasis on safety and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-3 months of related experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with quality control standards.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble switches, panels, and other components using designated tools and procedures.
  • Operate and set up laminators, digital presses, die cutters, and paper cutters as needed.
  • Apply adhesives and perform laminating tasks for material preparation.
  • Follow blueprints, job specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accuracy.
  • Inspect raw materials, overlays, and finished products for compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory tags as required.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workspace and machinery.

Job Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, operating, and maintaining production equipment and processes to meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role requires versatility and attention to detail, performing tasks such as product assembly, machine operation, material inspection, and process troubleshooting. The Assembly Technician collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure production efficiency and high-quality output.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assembly & Production Operations
  • Assemble switches, panels, and other components using designated tools and procedures.
  • Operate and set up laminators, digital presses, die cutters, and paper cutters as needed.
  • Apply adhesives and perform laminating tasks for material preparation.
  • Follow blueprints, job specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accuracy.
Quality Control & Equipment Maintenance
  • Inspect raw materials, overlays, and finished products for compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance on production equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and inventory tags as required.
Workplace Organization & Safety
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the workspace and machinery.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Technical & Professional Skills

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficiency in using ruler measurements for precision-based production tasks.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute detailed but straightforward written and verbal instructions.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving minor production issues within standard operational guidelines.

Requirements

This is a Full-Time position with working hours Monday through Friday 7am to 3:30pm.

This position requires excellent attention to detail, great attendance and the ability to work extended periods of time utilizing fine motor skills.
