Job summary

Dorner Manufacturing, a Columbus McKinnon Organization, is seeking a detail‑minded assembler to join our Stands and Drives team in Wisconsin. You will read production paperwork, assemble motors, drives, and related components, and ensure parts meet quality standards in a climate‑controlled facility.

Mon–Fri, 6:00am–2:30pm, with safety as a priority. We value teamwork, reliable performance, and the ability to adapt to changing production needs while maintaining a clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret production paperwork and work instructions.
• Basic computer, measurement, and math skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and safe operation of production equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assemble motors, drives, conveyor components from work orders.
• Identify and verify parts and materials for production orders.
• Operate saw equipment to cut materials per specs.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble and measure components.
• Inspect assemblies and perform quality checks.
• Collaborate with team leads to resolve issues.
• Prepare completed products for crating or shipping.
• Maintain safe, clean work area and perform 5S tasks.
• Adhere to safety procedures and work schedule.

Job Summary/Overview

This position works within the Stands and Drives assembly area and is responsible for operating saw equipment, assembling motors, drives, conveyor components, and subassemblies according to work orders, assembly drawings, and production paperwork, performing quality checks, and preparing completed products for transfer to the crating or shipping departments.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday

6:00am - 2:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs motor, drive, conveyor component assemblies and sub assemblies from work orders, assembly drawings, and production paperwork.
• Gathers, identifies, and verifies parts and materials required for production orders.
• Operates saw equipment to cut materials to specified lengths and dimensions according to production requirements, work orders, and drawings.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices to assemble products and verify specifications.
• Inspects completed assemblies and performs quality checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Works with team leads and other departments as needed to resolve assembly, documentation, or material-related issues.
• Collaborates with team members and across other production areas to ensure efficient workflow and timely order completion.
• Assists with stacking, staging, and preparing completed products for transfer to the crating or shipping department.
• Works in a safe manner complying with all safety procedures.
• Maintains a safe and clean environment and performs 5S tasks as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to safely lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs.
• 1+ year of assembly experience preferred.

Compensation

$19+ per hour, depending on experience
