Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring an Assembly Technician in Salem, VA. This onsite role focuses on producing magnetic bearing assemblies, high-speed motors, and drive panels, with tasks ranging from wiring and terminations to electrical testing.

Your day includes following assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and safety procedures while operating hand tools, lifts, and light machinery. Commuting distance is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• 1+ year assembly experience in light industrial setting.
• Read, understand and follow assembly instructions, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Use hand tools such as screwdriver, pliers, etc.
• Operate small lifts, pallet jacks and other lifting equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including email, Excel, and Word.
• Must be able to work with various epoxies without allergic reaction.
• Work on feet for extended periods of time.
• Must not have issues related to handling metals including aluminum, copper, bronze, and steel.

This position is onsite based in Salem, VA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $17.30 - $25.90 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
