Job summary

Timberlab in Portland, Maine is seeking an Assembly Technician to fabricate mass timber components. You will read shop drawings, prepare workstations, and assemble parts per specifications to meet tight tolerances.

This role requires dexterity, familiarity with power tools, forklift and overhead crane operation, and a commitment to safety. You will perform quality inspections, handle materials, and contribute to a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform manual operations requiring dexterity.
• Ability to visually inspect finished parts.
• Familiarity with power tools, forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job: standing for extended periods, lifting loads up to 50 pounds, squat, bend or kneel while wearing a tool belt.
• Comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions.
• Forklift certificate.
• Overhead crane training and certification.
• Rigging training and certification.
• Adhere to all OSHA and Swinerton safety practices and procedures.

• Fabricate product per job specs and drawings
• Prepare workstations per Lead Assembly Technician direction
• Read, and understand shop drawings, blueprints, product specifications, and process documents
• Perform quality control inspections to ensure product meets job specs and tolerances
• Be knowledgeable on all hardware and fastener types
• Handle and transport material with forklift and overhead crane
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment

MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
