Job summary

Air Hydro Power Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking an Assembly Technician to fabricate and assemble custom stock items using plasma cutting, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, and hose/tubing fabrication.

You will work under the Assembly Division Coordinator to schedule and prioritize projects and ensure quality through testing against specifications. This hands‑on role requires due attention to safety, precise tool handling, and accurate record keeping using Microsoft Office and

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training.
  • Experience with fabrication and assembly processes is preferred.
  • Ability to read specifications and use charts/calculators for component selection.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and construct custom stock assemblies using plasma cutting, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, and hose/tubing fabrication.
  • Coordinate with Assembly Division Coordinator and management for project scheduling and prioritization.
  • Use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components for assemblies.
  • Document assemblies through photos, digital scanning, and drawings in coordination with applications engineering.
  • Test completed units against customer specifications and prescribed standards.

Description

We\'re seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team and construct custom assemblies and fabricated value-added items for our customers and inventory. This role offers hands‑on experience with diverse manufacturing techniques and the opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment.


Supervisory Responsibilities


  • None.


Duties/Responsibilities


  • Fabricate and construct custom stock assemblies by performing the following: plasma cutting, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, fabricating hose and tubing to various sizes, using general hand and power tools, as well as performing various diagnostic and trouble‑shooting practices.

  • Interact and take direction from the Assembly Division Coordinator and management team for scheduling and prioritizing assembly projects and methods to use in completing tasks.

  • Use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components to be used in some assemblies.

  • Document new and changed custom assemblies through the use of digital cameras, computers, scanners, faxes, and electronic drawings in conjunction with applications engineering.

  • Testing completed units to the prescribed standards as required and specified by customers.

Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements


  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
