Job summary

FHP Manufacturing, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a joint venture between Robert Bosch and Carrier Corporation. We are seeking a hands-on Assembly Team Lead to coordinate daily operations of the Assembly Line during the first shift.

You will lead a team of 10-15 associates, ensure quality standards, and drive lean initiatives while maintaining safety and efficiency. Training new hires and cross-training staff will be a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing assembly/CNC experience preferred.
• Ability to coordinate 10-15 people.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Overtime flexibility required.
• Willing to work in other departments when requested.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to manage and prioritize daily assembly line activities.
• Train and mentor new hires and support cross-training initiatives.
• Implement and promote BPS principles for continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Ensure timely delivery of components and finished units to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and SHS.
• Use manual/power tools and measuring devices to assemble appliances and perform tests.
• Inspect finished products for quality, identify defects, and manage non-conforming materials.
• Rework units as needed to meet quality standards.
• Support a safe and organized work environment through adherence to material handling best practices.

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Assembly Team Lead to support and coordinate daily operations of our Assembly Line during the first shift. Reporting to the Area Supervisor, you will lead a team of associates, ensure adherence to quality standards, and maintain efficiency across processes. Your expertise will play a key role in training new team members and maintaining operational excellence through lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to manage and prioritize daily assembly line activities.
• Be proficient in all departmental processes; act as a trainer and mentor for new hires and cross-training initiatives.
• Implement and promote BPS (Business Process Standards) principles for continuous improvement and process optimization.
• Ensure timely delivery of components and finished units to meet production schedules.
• Read and interpret work instructions, product drawings, and special handling sheets (SHS).
• Use manual/power tools and measuring devices to assemble appliances and perform functional tests.
• Inspect finished products for quality, identify defects, and manage non-conforming materials appropriately.
• Rework units as needed to meet quality standards.
• Support a safe and organized work environment through adherence to best practices in material handling.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience in assembly and/or CNC machine operation preferred.
• Must be able to coordinate tasks of others (10-15 people).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to work overtime when requested.
• Must be flexible to work in other departments when requested.

Ability to read and apply work instructions, follow directions, understand and execute safety and quality procedures.
