Job summary

Valeo is seeking a Process Engineer/Technician to plan and coordinate advanced industrial engineering projects in a high-speed manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot issues with the Quality Engineer, review progress with various units, and propose changes to assembly processes, designs, and equipment as needed.

The role emphasizes creating process documentation, leading problem-solving groups, and supporting customer sample submissions to ensure first-time quality for new service parts.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments related to design, process improvement, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues with Quality Engineer during Assembly to ensure quality components are manufactured.
  • Collaborate with various units to review progress and evaluate results.
  • Develop and suggest changes in assembly processes, designs, and equipment when necessary.
  • Create and maintain process documentation.
  • Devise new approaches to problems encountered.
  • May supervise or coordinate Engineers, Technicians, Designers and others on assignments.
  • Provide leadership and act as a role model in Quality, Productivity, Safety/Ergonomics and Training.
  • Review weekly production schedules with Master Scheduler.
  • Organize and lead Problem Solving Groups with functions and suppliers to analyze problems and define action plans using PFMEA, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma.
  • Fully support Customer Initial Sample submissions with correct documentation for right-first-time acceptance of new Service Part Numbers.

What You Will Do
  • You will plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments usually associated with design, process improvement, or manufacturing engineering.
  • You will troubleshoot engineering issues, with the help of the Quality Engineer, that arise during the Assembly process to ensure quality components are being manufactured.
  • You will work with various organization units to review progress and evaluate results.
  • You will develop and suggest changes in assembly processes, designs, and equipment, when necessary.
  • You will be responsible for creating and maintaining process documentation.
  • Devises new approaches to problems encountered.
  • You might, on occasion, supervise or coordinate the work of Engineers, Technicians, Designers and others who assist on specific assignments.
  • You will provide leadership and act as a role model in the areas of Quality, Productivity, Safety/Ergonomics and Training.
  • You will review weekly production schedules with the Master Scheduler.
  • You will organize and animate Problem Solving Groups with all the functions concerned and supplier representatives to analyze the problem, find the root cause, and define action plans by applying Problem Solving Quality Tools (PFMEAs, Poka-Yoke, and Six Sigma).
  • You will fully support Customer Initial Sample submissions with correct documentation to ensure right first time acceptance for all new Service Part Numbers.
What You Should Have
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, but experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Process Engineer or similar in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • You preferably have working knowledge with PFMEAs, Six Sigma, and Poka-Yoke.
