Job summary

Position Overview:

The Assembly & Packaging Packer is responsible for properly assembling, preparing, and boxing a variety of plastic products, including tubs, totes, and waste containers.

Essential Functions:

• Imprint and/or assemble the product as the order specifies
• Monitor the production process and notify the coordinator of any non-conformities
• Perform all documentation and product control functions as instructed
• Maintain a clean and safe workstation
• Remove all components from the workstation area that are not related to the current work order being processed
• Wear the required PPE (safety)
• Perform special projects and/or duties as assigned
• Assist in the training of new employees
• Work additional hours or days when necessary
• Complete the training program
• Use the work center design to correctly pack the appropriate number of components
• Affix the orange tag to each stack of carts identifying the work order number, date, packer, and customer
• Assist in the first piece inspection process when necessary
• Answer phone
• Other duties or assignments as directed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Three months of previous experience in a manufacturing environment
• Prior injection molding experience helpful

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Ability to maintain a work pace equal to the machine cycle

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where there is exposure to noise and moving mechanical parts
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle and/or feel objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, see and hear
• Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 25 lbs. frequently
• Ability to roll up to 450 lbs.
