Amsted Rail Petersburg is seeking an Assembly Operator/Material Handler to move materials, pallets, dies, and racks, assist in crating and labeling for shipments, and maintain orderly work areas. You will use forklifts, scan parts, and record production data to ensure on-time delivery of quality components.

The role requires lifting 10–50 lbs, standing for shifts, and passing pre-employment drug and background checks.

Qualifications

• Lift 10–50 lbs regularly.
• Stand/walk during full shift.
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and background checks.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Move materials, pallets, dies, tubs, and racks between areas and machines.
• Assist in crating, labeling, and packing for shipments.
• Scan parts/materials and document movement using reports or checklists.
• Record run information and inspect finished pieces for conformance.
• Keep work area clean and organized per standard work instructions.

POSITION SUMMARYThe Assembly Operator/Material Handler will move materials, pallets, dies, tubs, baskets, and racks to various areas or machine locations with the department/facility. The material handler must also aid the in the crating of finished export pallets and other assembly operation functions.
