POSITION SUMMARY

Aurora Casket Company, a Matthews International subsidiary, is seeking a qualified Assembly Operator / Machine Operator for our Production Facility in Aurora, IN, within our Memorialization business segment. This role involves the production and parts assembly of our products for the memorial industry.

We offer a competitive starting rate of $20.70 plus full benefits, including Medical, Dental, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation, 10 Paid Holidays, and a 401(k) Retirement Plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate production equipment in an industrial environment.
• Use machinery, hand, and power tools in a fast-paced setting.
• Cross-train and learn various job functions within the production environment.
• Receive training to complete tasks and advance your career.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with production supervisors and operate machinery to meet production needs.
• Determine parts to be manufactured based on orders and stock.
• Monitor machinery operation, identify defects or malfunctions.
• Engage in multi-tasking and cross-training across departments and machines.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 3+ years of assembly experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Mechanical aptitude; ability to use various hand tools, power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torches.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and see regularly.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving parts, fumes, extreme temperatures, electrical hazards, and chemicals.
• Work environment may be noisy.
