Job summary

Matthews International is seeking an Assembly Operator to assemble product using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, adhesives and fasteners in a safe, efficient manner according to production standards and schedules.

The role involves operating equipment safely per OSHA and company safety rules, following approved procedures, monitoring quality points, reporting issues to a supervisor, cross-training across departments, performing preventative maintenance, and keeping the work area clean.

Responsibilities

• Operates assigned equipment or tools safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules.
• Performs work in accordance to approved procedures and work instructions. Work instructions are located on site for operators review and training.
• Monitors Quality Points at work station and record required data. Quality check point information is located on site for operator review and training.
• Reports quality and production concerns and issues to Supervisor.
• Cross trains on all work stations within department.
• Conducts operator level preventative maintenance on all assigned tools, jigs and fixtures according to the Preventative Maintenance Schedule.
• Keeps work environment neat and clean.
• Additional duties as assigned.
