Job summary

Magna Seating South Carolina is seeking an Assembly Operator to assemble automotive seat systems in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment. You will rotate through tasks, read instructions, and ensure quality and timely production.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, strong hand control, and the ability to stand for long periods while lifting 25–50 lbs. ERP and barcode skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assembling mechanical components with hand and power tools.
• Rotating between tasks on the production line.
• Reading and following blueprints or diagrams accurately.
• Performing quality checks and identifying defects.
• Assisting with parts inspection, inventory, cleanup, and minor maintenance.
• Reporting safety, quality, or production issues to supervisors promptly.
• Maintaining a clean, organized workstation (5S).
• Participating in continuous improvement and team problem solving.
• Attending training and completing required materials.

Job Responsibilities:

As an Assembly Operator at Magna Seating South Carolina, you will play a key role in assembling automotive seat systems that go directly to major vehicle manufacturers. We are proud to be part of Magna International, one of the largest automotive suppliers in the world, and a Tier 1 supplier for this critical product. In this role, you'll rotate through various tasks on the production line and contribute to building high-quality products in a fast-paced environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assemble mechanical components using hand and power tools
• Rotate between tasks.
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or diagrams accurately
• Perform quality checks and identify defective or non-conforming parts
• Assist in plant duties such as parts inspection, inventory, cleanup, and minor equipment maintenance
• Report safety, quality, or production issues to supervisors in a timely manner
• Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment at all times (e.g., Gloves, Glasses)
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation (5S compliance)
• Participate in continuous improvement and team-based problem solving
• Attend training sessions and complete required materials

Preferred Skills :

• Experience in a manufacturing or assembly-line environment
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodology
• Ability to use ERP or production tracking systems (e.g., barcode scanners or tablets)
• Ability to read technical drawings, wire diagrams, or exploded views
• Multilingual (especially in a diverse team setting)
• High School Diploma or GED
