Job summary

Greif, a global leader in performance packaging, is hiring an Assembly Operator for the 1st shift in Carol Stream, IL. The role involves hand and automated assembly and packaging products according to prints.

You should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2–3 years of manufacturing experience, with the ability to read English instructions, interpret specifications, operate basic equipment, and work well in a team. Shift is Monday–Thursday, 4:00 am–2:30 pm.

• Reports errors and nonconforming pieces.
• Keeps a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follows safety policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Industrial Manufacturing colleague for hand assembly, automated assembly, packaging products, amongst other production-oriented tasks.

1st Shift

Monday-Thursday: 4am-2:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Operates routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
• Packaging Products into both bulk packaging and individual cartons.
• Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced.
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Reliable and focused.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2- 3 years of manufacturing experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Willingness to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Fundamental understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production / manufacturing equipment.
• Reading, writing and speaking English.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $19.33 - $30.87annually. Typicaly, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between19.39 to19.39. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
