Job description

Overview

Responsibilities

Assemble, form, perform functional tests, and inspect parts and assemblies into end-items, working from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures to ensure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Tasks include multi-tasking where applicable.

1. Obtain required information from prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic sources.

2. Use shop mathematics and precision measuring or test instruments to complete work assignments and functional test assemblies and components.

3. Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.

4. Verify work performed complies with work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specifications. Identify discrepancies per applicable procedures.

5. Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.

6. Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of daily duties (e.g., replacing machine filters, changing light bulbs, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels).

7. Move product within the manufacturing area using shop equipment, and complete transactions to transfer product to the next operation.

8. Perform work within scheduled timelines.

9. Support continuous product flow by training and assisting employees at all levels.

10. Assist in training other assembly personnel in assembly, installation, and inspection techniques.

11. Cross-train in inspection and become SIA qualified.

Level B

1. Perform all duties of Level C and any two of the following:

2. Operate coordinate measuring systems or perform complex functional tests of hardware.

3. Work within quality, cost, and schedule requirements for assigned product lines.

4. Demonstrate knowledge of shop performance metrics.


Qualifications

  • Required:

  • Possess 6+ months of aircraft structural sheet metal experience or have completed Aero Structural Training, or relevant experience using power and/or hand tools.

  • Ability to work on concrete floors, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, crawling, lifting, and moving parts/tools.

  • Main tasks involve constant drilling, bucking, and riveting, with overtime as needed.

  • Pass the WorkKeys Assessment or provide verification of passing; assessments can be completed in advance.

  • Willingness to work any shift, including alternative work weeks.
