Job summary

OPmobility is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Assembly Area Manager at the Fairfax Site in Kansas City to lead the assembly area, manage resources and budgets, and drive continuous improvement in quality and delivery.

You will oversee daily production meetings, staff development, and adherence to HSE objectives while coordinating with program teams on new product launches and process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree required.
  • Experience as Industrial or Mechanical Engineer a plus.
  • Knowledge of quality and supply chain best practices.
  • Good command of English.
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Corporate and BG HSE objectives and requirements.
  • Produces parts according to customer specifications.
  • Leads plant progress plan with staff involvement and follow-up activities.
  • Leads daily production meeting and optimizes resources.
  • Participates in monthly production-unit meetings and plans short-/medium-term organization.
  • Manages assembly area organization and team development.
  • Maintains maintenance and cleanliness in assembly area.
  • Proposes and delivers the operating budget.
  • Supports new programs with the Program development team.
  • Implements visual management and team selection/development.

  • Job Title: Manufacturing Assembly Area Manager
  • Location: Fairfax Site - Kansas City

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with Corporate and BG HSE objectives and requirements.
  • Ensures parts are produced according to customer specifications and requirements.
  • Takes part in the implementation of the plant progress plan encouraging staff involvement, through the implementation of specific follow‑up activities.
  • Leads a daily production meeting, adjust the resources according to the changes, implements and makes sure of the efficiency of the corrective actions.
  • Participates in the monthly meetings of his/her production unit, defines the plans for short- and medium‑term organization including new product launch.
  • Manages the assembly area internal organization.
  • Manages the team (organization, objectives, discipline and mindset, people development) according to department and projects requirements.
  • Is required to maintain a high level of maintenance and cleanliness in the assembly area.
  • Proposes the operating budget and then deliver the agreed budget.
  • Provides appropriate support on new programs development in relation with Program development team.
  • Puts in place visual management.
  • Participates in the team selection and development.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Engineering Degree level education
  • Experience as Industrial or Mechanical Engineer would be a plus
  • Knowledge of quality, supply chain/flows management best practices
  • Good command of English
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
  • Fields of experience: Industry with demanding customers regarding quality and delivery; Sequenced in-line supply/Just in‑time supply (SILS/JIT); Large production equipment management (production programs, standard operating procedures creation, process improvements, process failures analysis); Lean manufacturing.
