Job summary

Accelera is seeking an Assembler II to join the finishing area and assemble fabricated metal tanks with hand and power tools, torque equipment, and precise measurement devices. You will follow blueprints, ensure high-quality work, and maintain safety standards on the shop floor.

You will inspect parts, perform rework as necessary, document production details, and support the paint line as needed. A minimum of one year in manufacturing or assembly and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least one year of manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Experience with blueprints, precision measurement tools, and hand/power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble tanks using hand and power tools and torque equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics to install and secure hardware.
  • Collaborate with team members and verify tool usage for each task.
  • Detect and correct issues such as missing parts or surface defects.
  • Conduct final visual inspections for dimensional accuracy and placement.
  • Perform rework to ensure product readiness for shipment.
  • Report critical production issues to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain documentation of production quantities and job details.
  • Operate a motorized pallet jack to move tanks in the finishing area.
  • Maintain workstation cleanliness and equipment upkeep.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement to boost efficiency.
  • Provide backup support for the Finisher I on the paint line as needed.

Job description

As an Assembler II, you will be responsible for the intricate assembly of fabricated metal tanks, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, torque equipment, and measurement devices. Reporting to the Finish Supervisor, your primary focus will be maintaining high safety and quality standards. You will conduct thorough visual inspections to ensure product integrity, address any necessary rework, and resolve issues to guarantee that only top-quality products are shipped.

Core Responsibilities
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and torque equipment to assemble tanks accurately, helping to maintain a safe and high-quality production environment.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical schematics to install, align, and secure hardware according to customer requirements.
  • Work alongside experienced team members and verify work instructions to ensure the correct tools are utilized for each assembly task.
  • Detect and correct issues such as missing parts or surface imperfections like rust, scratches, or overspray.
  • Conduct final visual inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and component placement, ensuring the final product meets quality standards.
  • Perform necessary adjustments or rework to ensure the product is ready for shipment.
  • Promptly report critical or urgent production issues to your direct supervisor.
  • Maintain precise documentation and records regarding production quantities and job details.
  • Operate a motorized pallet jack to safely transport tanks throughout the finishing area.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance on your workstation and assembly equipment to keep the area organized.
  • Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement efforts to enhance production efficiency.
  • Provide backup support for the Finisher I role on the paint line, including sanding, cleaning, and inspecting parts, as required by business needs.
  • Complete other relevant tasks, duties, and projects as requested by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Apply spatial reasoning to interpret complex blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Identify and resolve surface defects or missing components to maintain high production standards.
  • Prioritize safety while operating industrial equipment, including motorized pallet jacks.
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with colleagues across all levels of the organization.
  • Commit to following all company policies, including safety protocols and the code of conduct.
  • Communicate fluently in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.

Physical Requirements and Environment

Physical Demands:

This role requires constant standing, bending, and stooping, along with repetitive hand movements to operate tools. You must possess the visual acuity to read schematics and inspect tanks, as well as the ability to exchange information clearly. The position involves constant movement, reaching overhead or below shoulder level, and the physical capacity to lift and position objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

You will work primarily on the manufacturing shop floor, where you will encounter fluctuating temperatures and noise levels averaging 100 decibels. Safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots are mandatory. When working on the paint line, additional protective gear, such as respiratory equipment, will be required.
