Job summary

Astranis is seeking an Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician to assemble and test satellite components and fully integrated vehicles. You will work in a clean room environment, setting up test equipment and conducting functional and environmental tests on spacecraft subsystems.

The role requires experience with assembly, interpretation of drawings, and coordinating with engineers. Expect 50 hours/week, first/second shifts, and travel to off-site launch/testing sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of fundamental experience in assembly, manufacturing or maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, test plans, and work to procedures.
  • Ability to perform spacecraft integration tasks in clean room environment.
  • Ability to operate cranes, man lifts, tugs & handling equipment.
  • Experience working with general hand tools and torque wrenches.
  • Familiar with windows style PC operating systems.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Climbing ladders, standing for long periods, bending movements.
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted.
  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends; travel to off-site locations.

  • Collaborate with Production engineers to develop and document build procedures.

Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician

Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician

As an Assembly Integration and Test Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing satellite components, subassemblies, and fully integrated vehicles. The role requires both electrical and mechanical integration work to assemble the spacecraft as well as assisting with pneumatic and electrical testing.

Role
  • Assemble and test spacecraft and ground support equipment
  • Assemble and integrate the spacecraft using engineering models and procedures. Assemblies include: structural parts and mechanisms, RF waveguides, antenna, electronic boxes, harnesses, coax cables, thermal blankets
  • Maintain paperwork - work instructions, connector mate logs, test logs
  • Set up, adjust, and calibrate standard test equipment to conduct functional and environmental testing using test procedures
  • Perform spacecraft lifting and handling operations
  • Perform spacecraft testing of communications, telemetry and command, thermal, power, and propulsion subsystems per the applicable procedure
  • Operate subassembly and spacecraft pressure test consoles
  • Collaborate with Production engineers to develop and document build procedures
Requirements
  • 2+ years of fundamental experience in assembly, manufacturing or maintenance
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, test plans, and work to procedures
  • Ability to perform spacecraft integration tasks in clean room environment
  • Ability to operate cranes, man lifts, tugs & handling equipment
  • Experience working with general hand tools and torque wrenches

  • Climbing ladders, long durations of standing, grasping, sitting, pulling, and physical bending movements
  • Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
  • Willing and able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as required
  • Willing and able to travel to support off-site launch site processing and environmental testing
Bonus
  • Experience in the aerospace industry
  • Experience with handling and integrating space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing
  • Experience with pneumatics or hydraulics
  • Experience in operating cranes, man lifts, forklifts, and handling equipment
  • Hands-on experience using electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectral analyzers, etc.)
  • Understanding and experience in environmental testing such as vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVAC.

50 hours a week expectation for our production team. First and second shift availability.

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional-grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

Base Hourly Pay

$30 - $40 USD
