Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois, is seeking an Assembly professional to build and package Brandt products. You will assemble hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components, perform diagnostics, and execute quality checks to ensure full functionality of trucks and equipment.

Role requires reading tape measures, SOP experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.

  • Experience with SOP development.
  • Must be reliable and work under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor.
  • Ability to read tape measures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and package Brandt-manufactured products.
  • Handle, bundle, and stack finished goods.
  • Stencil, decal, and add material to finished products.
  • Count and record material accurately.
  • Move material as required.
  • Operate department equipment for short periods as needed.
  • Set up finished products with minimal supervision.
  • Perform all work on tube repairs.
  • Final assembly on augers including adjusting sprockets and chains.
  • Unfold duties as assigned.
  • Unload material from loading bars.
  • Perform PDI checks and settings on truck chassis and heavy equipment.
  • Install mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment on trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Conduct full functionality checks.
  • Diagnose and repair issues during checks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Brandt provides top quality products to its customers worldwide. As a result of continued growth, we are currently seeking Assemblersfor our manufacturing facility located in the north of Bloomington/Normal in Illinois.


The Assembler is responsible for efficiently assembling and packaging Brandt-manufactured products in accordance with established procedures and quality standards. This position would also include assembly of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical components to truck chassis and would include diagnostics, quality checks and full functionality checks of trucks and equipment. This role ensures products are built accurately, safely, and on schedule while adhering to all safety protocols, production guidelines, and workplace policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Work on and put together Brandt products.

  • Handle, bundle, and stack finished goods.

  • Stencil, decal, and add material to finished products.

  • Accurately count and record material as required.

  • Move material as required.

  • Operate equipment in the machine department for short periods of time when required.

  • Have thorough knowledge and understanding of most helper functions.

  • Complete set up on finished products under minimum supervision.

  • Perform all work required on the tubes repair.

  • Does final assembly on standard and direct drive augers including adjusting sprockets, chains and steady rests.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Unload material from load bars.

  • Perform PDI checks and settings on truck chassis and heavy equipment

  • Install mechanical, electrical and hydraulic equipment on trucks and heavy equipment

  • Full functionally checks on equipment installed

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair issues that arise during functionality checks

  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum 2 years’ related experience.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Experience with SOP development.

  • Must be reliable and work under minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.

  • Ability to read tape measures.

  • Mechanic trade qualification (Heavy Equipment, Agriculture, Truck/Transport) preferred.

  • ASE certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

  • Computer and technical aptitude and knowledge for diagnostics and calibration work.

  • Diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
