Assembler - Wiring/Soldering - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Wiring/Soldering Operator will be responsible for hand soldering fine wires to defined solder junctions and proper wire routings per engineering documentation. The operator must be able to inspect their own work and compare against defined procedures, schematics, and workmanship standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Obtain and pass established internal soldering exercises.
  • Set up station with the correct tools/fixtures and components per assembly/process drawings.
  • Perform solder operations according to FUTEK workmanship standards.
  • Work under magnification (camera, microscope, or magnification lamps) to perform tasks.
  • Interpret assembly drawings and work instructions.
  • Monitor quality in accordance with established quality specifications.
  • Handle, trim, and adjust small single conductor wires without damaging jackets using tweezers or small hand tools.
  • Know different processes (lead and lead-free) fluxes, solder, and cleaning solvents.
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to meet electrical or dimensional requirements.
  • Connect component lead wires to solder junctions and route/connect wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Perform defluxing or cleaning of solder joints as necessary.
  • Use instrumentation (DMM, power supply) to check product conformity after soldering, and document results in the MES system.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations (5S).
Shift Availability
  • Must be flexible to work second shift - 3 pm to 11:30 pm.
