Job summary

Park Manufacturing Corp. in Cambridge, MN is seeking an Assembler-Wire Harness to join a fast-paced, team-based shop. You will perform basic electrical and mechanical assembly, following print specs, wiring lists and quality standards to build wiring units.

The job requires eye-hand coordination, use of hand tools, simple machining, and measurement with basic math. You will rotate through stations, prepare parts, verify completed components, and help meet daily quality targets.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED; and one to three months of assembly/production experience.
  • Reading and following simple instructions and quality standards; learn basic blueprint layouts.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Review assembly instructions, blueprints and parts lists; gather parts and tools.
  • Prepare sub-components for assembly and make ready for processing.
  • Operate hand tools and simple machining operations.
  • Perform tests to verify compliance with quality specifications.
  • Rotate among workstations as production needs require.
  • Position parts by reading blueprints and measurements; assemble and fasten components.
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Meet daily quantity and quality standards.

Assembler-Wire Harness

In a fast paced, team environment, Assemblers at Park work under direct supervision, performing basic and routine electrical/mechanical assembly and sub-assembly operations.

You will use print specifications, wiring lists, written quality standards and verbal instructions to assemble, modify, rework or reassemble wiring units.

Work is repetitious in nature and requires a significant amount of eye hand coordination and dexterity. Works with small hand tools and completes simple machining operations. Required to use measuring devices and apply basic math skills.

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Prepares sub-components for assembly by sorting, stripping, terminating or otherwise making them ready for further processing.
  • Operates various hand tools and simple machining operations.
  • Performs various tests for compliance to quality specifications.
  • Rotates among different workstations as production needs require.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using blueprints and/or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component.
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
  • Is required to meet daily Quantity and Quality standards.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one to three months of assembly/production experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and written quality standards. Must be able to learn to read and understand basic blueprint layouts. Ability to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one as well as a small group setting.

Mathematical Skills:

Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure (US and Metric), using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to accurately use various multiple simple measuring devices.
