Job summary

Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division, is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabrication Assembler to support manufacturing operations. The role involves working in small teams to fit sheet metal parts to assemblies, using fixtures, scribe, and grind to achieve precise fits.

Shifts available: 1st shift 6am–3:30pm and 2nd shift 3:30pm–1:00am with a 15% shift differential. The ideal candidate has TIG welding experience and is committed to safety and quality.

Qualifications

• TIG welding experience.
• Ability to work in two- to three-person teams.
• Able to read and follow written instructions, procedures and safety rules.
• Willingness to learn and retain new skills.
• Regular attendance in accordance with company standards.
• Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with brazing, resistance welding, or fusion welding a plus.

Responsibilities

• Fit up sheet metal parts to assemblies using fixtures, scribe, and grind to fit.
• Use resistance spot welder to pre-assemble parts prior to braze for oven brazing.
• Use hand tools and power tools to bring parts to customer specifications with calibrated measuring devices.
• Complete required paperwork and checklists.
• Maintain a high degree of safety and quality in daily work.

Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division has an exciting career opportunity for a Sheet Metal Fabrication Assembler to play an integral role in manufacturing operations. The right candidates will work closely in teams of two or three individuals, be self-driven with a safety and quality mind-set.

This position is for 1st or 2nd shift

1st shift 6am - 3:30pm

2nd shift 3:30pm-1:00am (+15% shift differential)

Core Responsibilities

• Work individually and in small teams to fit up sheet metal parts to assemblies using dedicated fixtures, scribe, and grind to fit.
• Use resistance spot welder to pre-assemble parts prior to applying braze for oven brazing.
• Use hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, metal forming dies, pliers, tin snips, and various grinders, to bring parts to customer specifications. Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
• Complete required paperwork and checklists.
• Perform work with a high degree of responsibility with an emphasis on safety and quality.

• Compliance with general attendance standards is required.
• Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with brazing, resistance welding, or fusion welding of sheet metal is a plus.
