Job summary

Eaton is seeking an Assembler for the Weekend Shift at the Arden, NC location. The role involves assembling and wiring control equipment from drawings and specifications, selecting parts, and preparing wiring.

You will also perform testing, make repairs per changes, and maintain a clean, safe work area in line with quality standards. Qualifications include a mechanical/electrical background, ability to read blueprints, and capability to work overtime including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire control equipment from drawings and specs.
• Determine parts, material, and raise requisitions from stock.
• Prepare wire for assembly by cutting and terminating.
• Assemble, wire, adjust, and fit sub-assemblies to form finished units.
• Move and handle parts, up to 35 pounds, as needed.
• Test electrical/mechanical performance and adjust as required.
• Implement engineering and customer changes and repairs.
• Report irregularities or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records and clean work area.
• Operate power tools safely and responsibly.
• Work with others to meet production schedules.
• Adhere to safety and hygiene rules at all times.
• Support overtime needs, including weekends, when required.

Job description

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Assembler Weekend Shift Arden. This position is based at our Arden, Nc location.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.50 per hour.

What you’ll do:

• A. Works from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment.
• B. Determines necessary parts and material, and prepares requisition to obtain parts and material from stock.
• C. Prepares wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals.
• D. Route out, assembles, wires, adjusts, fits and modifies parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly.
• E. May require lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement.
• F. Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards, and makes necessary adjustments and alignment when required.
• G. Executes engineering and customer changes and makes repairs as required.
• H. Reports irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach.
• I. Maintains records as required.
• J. Observes all safety and hygiene rules and regulations.
• K. Maintains work area in a neat and orderly manner.
• L. Other assignments as required.
• M. Operator of power tools, including battery powered and compressed air.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
