Job summary

SNC, An Allient Company, Oshkosh, Wisconsin, is seeking an Assembler to perform transformer lamination and related assembly tasks in a first-shift role. You will laminate electrical transformers, install mounting brackets and insulating materials according to prescribed procedures.

Responsibilities include operating laminating equipment, following specifications, and using hoists and hand tools safely. Starting wage is $22.97 per hour with standard progression and 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

  • 9–12 months of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks with safety awareness.

SNC, An Allient Company, a premier manufacturer and marketer of custom electrical transformers, utility products, and information and communication products are currently seeking an Assembler to join our team in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!

The Assembler - Transformer Lamination will perform various assembly operations in their entirety as assigned, primarily concerned with the lamination of electrical transformers and the installation of mounting brackets and insulating materials in accordance with prescribed practices and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive direction from Supervisor and instructions relative to work assignment from Supervisor or lead person. Work from established job specifications, departmental card files, prescribed practices and procedures, written and verbal instructions.
  • Operate specified laminating machine. Set E, I gauge bars and micro-switches to specified height and/or exchange complete drive units. Load left and right magazines with metal lamination, position coil, activate machine to automatically feed alternate laminations to maximum fullness. Complete laminating process by hand, using (2) 1/8\" iron or greater and stacks 3\" or greater.
  • Use hoists, low lift hand truck and carts to position or move transformers to assigned locations, use pneumatic tools, ratchets, wrenches and applicable equipment and hand tools.
  • Install various insulating materials, fasten, mount, tighten, square, gauge brackets and specified hardware to meet dimensional and functional requirements and conformance.
  • Perform other related duties in accordance with production workload requirements as assigned.
  • Detect faulty operations or equipment, discrepancies in material, specifications or other unusual conditions and report to proper Supervisor. Record applicable job information as assigned.
  • Maintain work area in neat and orderly condition. Make out time and production reports.
  • Observe all prescribed safety regulations.
  • Train new hires and cross-train existing personnel as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Ability to use specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, and basic arithmetic.
  • Experience: 9-12 months of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Initiative & Ingenuity: Ability to independently perform assembly tasks, including transformer lamination and installation of brackets and insulating materials, with judgment to follow standard procedures.
  • Physical Demand: Moderate physical effort, including frequent lifting and moving of materials.
  • Mental/Visual Demand: Continuous attention required for tasks.
  • Responsibility for Equipment: Careful performance needed to avoid minor damage to tools and equipment.
  • Responsibility for Materials: Careful work required to minimize scrap or rework losses.
  • Safety Responsibility: Responsible for ensuring safety to prevent minor injuries.
  • Work Environment: Good working conditions with minimal exposure to shop elements.

Wages: Starting at $22.97 per hour, with wage rate progressions at 36 actually worked days, 6, 12, and 18 months of employment.

Usual Hours Per Week: Full-time, minimum of 40 hours per week

Overtime: Voluntary, for all hours worked over 8 hours in a workday, over 40 hours in a workweek, or for Saturday work (typically 5-hour shifts if, offered).

Shift/Workdays: First Shift Only. Monday through Friday. 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
