Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests a variety of moderate to semi-complex products to achieve customer quality and on-time delivery schedules. May perform lockwiring and final detailing functions. Works on products that contain mostly mechanical and some electrical components, single and some dual hydraulic systems, and multiple part families. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Receives limited supervisory guidance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs assembly/test functions using mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Sets up test equipment to measure and record conformance to specifications, including hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic tests.
  3. Verifies test setups and makes adjustments to ensure accurate results.
  4. Conducts tests with data acquisition equipment, interprets, and records results.
  5. Troubleshoots malfunctions based on test data.
  6. Performs diagnostic teardown and evaluates components for rebuilds.
  7. Produces and inspects assemblies, ensuring they meet specifications, and performs soldering as needed.
  8. Interprets blueprints, engineering orders, and test specifications.
  9. Implements lean initiatives by identifying areas for improvement.
  10. Interfaces with engineering and production control regarding product issues.
  11. Maintains a safe, FOD-free work environment.
  12. Assists in training less experienced team members.
  13. Ensures calibration of equipment per schedule.
  14. Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of five years of industry-related experience in high-technology assembly/test environments.
  • Understanding of semi-complex products involving electronics, dual systems, and multiple part families.
  • Ability to research problems and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and set up test fixtures.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications; capable of performing semi-complex calculations.
  • Strong mechanical reasoning with hydraulic and electrical background; knowledge of fluids, leakage, flow, and pressure.
  • Ability to implement lean initiatives.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and team collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to interpret reports and use business software and automated systems.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain specialized certifications (e.g., FAA repair license, soldering certification).
