Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Temporary Assembler C for its Westbury, NY facility. Under moderate supervision, you will perform semi-complex electro-mechanical assembly, adjust, install, and fit components on modules.

Responsibilities include reading operation sheets, setting up machines, performing assembly, wiring, testing and packing, measuring with instruments, maintaining tools, training juniors, and following PPE and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge equivalent to high school, industrial or trade training.
• Should be able to read and interpret uncomplicated drawings.
• 1 to 3 years assembly experience involving hand and eye coordinated skills.

• Keep work area safe, clean and orderly; follow PPE and safety policies.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work from operation sheets, blueprints and verbal instructions to perform diversified assembling operations.

• May guide and train lower level employees.
• Keep work area in a safe, clean and orderly manner.
• Use all prescribed personal protection equipment (PPE) where deemed necessary; Follow established environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions associated with assigned duties and work location.
• Perform other duties as required.

Your Profile:

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is$20.00 to $25.00 per hourSome positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sicktime (exception for NY where we follow State law,)medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
