Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Stockton, CA is seeking an Assembler to build WSWH walls, meet safety and production goals, and participate in continuous improvement. You will use power tools, inspect against drawings, and operate a forklift to move materials, contributing to a strong team-focused environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, plus forklift certification and 1 year of related experience. Swing shift, full-time, on-site position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

  • Equipment: Operate forklift, reach truck, order picker, and electric pallet jack.
  • Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble WSWH Walls according to production standards; ensure product meets specification; use power tools and equipment; operate a forklift to move materials.
  • Read work orders to determine specifications, materials, dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain station area clean and organized; return tools and supplies to designated locations.

As an Assembler, you will be responsible for building WSWH walls in such a manner as to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, continuous improvement and production goals. You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)
  • Assembling the WSWH Walls accordingly to set production standards and ensure product meets specification using power tools and equipment. Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per written procedures. Operate a forklift to move raw material and finished goods as needed. (75%)
  • Read through work orders to determine specifications, such as materials to be used as well as product dimensions and tolerances. (15%)
  • Maintain building station area clean and organized making sure all tools and supplies are returned to home locations after use. (10%)
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck Certification required (will certify at hire)
  • 1 year of production, warehouse, and/or logistics experience required

  • Safety: Ability to prioritize safety by demonstrating safe work practices and promoting a safe work environment.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Follow both written and oral instructions, including safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA. This is a Swing shift position (3:45pm - 12:15am).

PAY

$18.00 / hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
