Job summary

Sanmina Corporation in Carrollton, TX, is seeking an Assembler - NPI to assemble and inspect complex electrical subassemblies. You will perform bench-type processes, follow wiring sequences, and verify against specifications.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, 1-2 years in assembly, and ability to read visual aids. Soldering with SN96/HMP and measuring tools experience is a plus; be reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years experience in assembly preferred.
• Experience with assembly and measuring tools preferred.
• Must be able to solder using SN96 or HMP; BGA soldering a plus.
• Excellent manual dexterity and ability to read/interpret visual aids.

Responsibilities

• Performs bench-type processes to assemble electrical/electronic subassemblies using hand tools and equipment (soldering iron, wire-cutters, etc).
• Follows established methods and sequence of operations for wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
• Verifies completed assembly against specifications.
• Makes setups and adjustments maintaining tolerances to blueprint specs.
• Applies procedural skills and uses tools/materials appropriate to area of specialization.

Job Purpose: Assemble/build and inspect complex electrical/electronic subassemblies or assemblies

Nature Of Duties

• Performs bench-type processes to complete electrical/electronic assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools and equipment such as soldering iron, wire-cutters, electronic and pneumatic tooling.
• Follows established methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering and cable harnessing on assembly units.
• Verifies completed assembly against specification.
• Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.
• Applies skills in procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment, as appropriate to area of specialization.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1-2 years experience
• Experience with assembly and measuring tools preferred
• Able to interpret visual aids
• Must demonstrate ability to solder using SN96 or HMP
• BGA soldering experience a plus
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination is necessary
• Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment with a sense of urgency
• Be able to sit for extended periods during the 8 hour shift
• Must be able to visually inspect small items for accuracy
• Must be able to handle small parts
• Must have manual dexterity
• Able to read and follow detailed instructions
• Able to work effectively in a team environment
• Excellent punctuality, good attendance, and reliability required
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
• Prior Sanmina experience and systems knowledge is preferred.
