Job summary

SMS group is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our North American team in Texas. The role focuses on hands-on assembly, disassembly, and finishing work on industrial components. You will document daily activities and help maintain a safe, organized shop floor.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, basic shop math, and experience reading blueprints. Our programs cover PPE, training, and a team‑oriented environment within a worldwide industrial group.

• Self-motivated to identify and resolve flow issues.
• Learn and understand critical processes in assigned areas.

Summary

The right candidate will

• Be a safety minded person who enjoys hands on work.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble various components.
• Document daily activities
• Must possess good mechanical skills in daily operations.
• Performs cleaning, grinding, painting and all related tasks to buildings, equipment, components, and subassemblies.
• Performs clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc.
• Must be courteous and work well with others.
• Complete Maintenance Request Forms for items in work area in need of repair
• Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, upholding a world-class standard of housekeeping.
• Ability to work with a safety conscientious attitude and report any unsafe acts or area to members of management.

What You’ll Need

• Good mechanical skills
• Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
• Mathematics – Knows basic shop math, and other functions necessary for the job
• Blueprint reading - interprets drawings
• Self-motivation to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues is essential.
• Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
