Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an Assembler II – Framing to read blueprints and schematics, fabricate frames for refrigeration systems, and assemble components per drawings. The role requires using drills, screw guns, and measuring tools while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The position is on-site, first shift, hourly and non-exempt. You will work across stations, support a team, and contribute to accurate assembly and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine components and layout.
  • Read job orders and bill of materials for framing work.
  • Assemble and mount electrical wiring circuits, coils, and controls as required.
  • Fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts using drill, screw gun, and related tools.
  • Identify and select appropriate power and hand tools for each operation.
  • Use measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety procedures.
  • Work at different stations as production needs require.

Assembler II – Framing

FLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Supervisor: Production Supervisor

Shift: 1st

What we are looking for:

Framing fabricates and assembles frames for refrigeration systems for environmental test equipment according to blueprints and schematic drawings and knowledge of refrigeration systems.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role:
  • Read blueprints, text, or schematic drawings to determine location, size, capacity and type of components such as tubing, or piping needed to build equipment
  • Read and comprehend a job order and bill of materials
  • May assemble and mount electrical wiring circuits, coils, controls, and recording devices
  • Required to fabricate and assemble sheet metal parts using drill, screw gun, and other tools required for the job
  • Identify power and hand tools used on their assigned product line
  • Performs any assembly-type function, using hand or power tools
  • Utilize appropriate information given on material gauging and dimensioning
  • Read rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, and other measuring instruments
  • Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners
  • Identify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require
  • Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner
  • Use proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally – Sitting, Climbing/Balancing, Stooping/Twisting, Kneeling, Squatting, Crawling and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs alone, up to 100lbs assisted
  • Frequently – Standing, Walking, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Gripping, Pinching, Neck Rotation/Extension and Lift/Carry up to 50lbs
  • Constantly – Foot Use, Visual Acuity (Near/Far) and Lift/Carry up to 10lbs

*Occasionally – Occurs up to 1/3 of the time *Frequently – Occurs 1/3 to 2/3 of the time *Constantly – Occurs 2/3 or more of the time
