Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an Electronics/Optics Assembler to build electronic and optical assemblies for fiber lasers. You will read schematics, perform in-process quality checks, and participate in training others while meeting production metrics. Qualified candidates have a high school electronics background, factory experience in electronics or fiber components, and the ability to work a 5:00 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

or 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m. shift.

Responsibilities:

• Build electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for lasers.
• Build optical and fiber assemblies.
• Reading blueprints or schematics.
• Performs in-process quality checks.
• Test and measurement.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas.
• Crosstrain in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
• Train other assemblers as assigned
• Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties.
• Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems.
• Understanding of inventory processes and material handling.

Requirements:

• High-School education in Electronics.
• Electronics, optics or fiber training and understanding.
• Electronics, optics, fiber or component level assembly.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics.
• Data entry skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job.
• Work hours: 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm.
