Job Summary:

A skilled mechanic/mechanical assembler is needed to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair refrigerant compressors for commercial HVAC systems, and their sub-assemblies.

This role requires manual dexterity, attention to detail, and knowledge of mechanics, proper use of measurement and assembly tools, and adherence to safety rules. Prior experience in mechanical assembly, especially with refrigerant compressors or similar complex equipment, is preferred.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Following all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules.
  • Supporting safety programs.
  • Being punctual and reliable.
  • Reading mechanical drawings, production documents, and quality documentation.
  • Following proper sequences for job completion.
  • Measuring and recording operations during assembly and testing.
  • Using and maintaining tools and equipment properly.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Checking output for quality and defects.
  • Keeping records of production units.
  • Performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a mechanical assembler or mechanic.
  • Experience with tools and machines in an industrial setting, preferably with refrigerant compressors.
  • Knowledge of mechanics and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and documentation.
  • Basic math skills and analytical ability.
  • Physical stamina for lifting heavy items.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or apprenticeship is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing is an asset.
