About the role

The Assembler II will primarily be responsible for assembly of copper at proficient level and/or begin assembly in fiber cables. The Assembler II will be responsible for organizing work of the line when in Copper. This position is responsible for cleaning production equipment and areas of work. The Assembler II will work under moderate supervision.


Responsibilities

  • Performs copper patch cord and fiber assembly, copper patch cord and fiber testing, copper trunks assembly and testing, forecast and cassettes assembly, fiber break out, packaging, single fiber task, labeling, pilot line, final visual and quality control.
  • Measures cable length per customer specifications.
  • Reads, understands and navigates through assembly process documents (i.e. method sheets) to assemble product.
  • Meets all departmental productivity targets.
  • Communicates and interacts with team members within the line, Production Leads and Production Supervisor for the purpose of achieving assembly line targets, quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Effectively interacts with support personnel from engineering, warehouse and/or quality to resolve production equipment and/or process issues.
  • Prepares, operates and cleans production equipment as appropriate for the successful completion of cable assembly.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions both verbally and in written format
  • Ability to use judgement to identify potential safety hazards
  • Ability to use judgement related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components
  • Must work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to multi-task and possess a sense of urgency
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility
  • Understanding of basic math skills – adding, subtracting and measuring

Shift:

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3:30pm-11:30pm


Education & Experience

  • High School education or GED preferred
  • Minimum 1-year experience in related copper and/or fiber cable assembly experience
  • Previous manufacturing environment required
