Job summary

Kentucky Trailer, part of Marmon Holdings backed by Berkshire Hathaway, seeks press and machine operators to assemble sub-assemblies and finish products. You will read simple blueprints, use hand and power tools, and fit parts to tolerances while monitoring quality.

Typically 3–5 years in manufacturing. Roles include Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer. Work under broad supervision; routine maintenance and quick problem solving expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Able to read simple blueprints.
• Familiar with hand and power tools used in assembly.
• Ability to monitor quality of products and raw materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub-assemblies or complete products.
• Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts to meet tolerances.
• Read simple blueprints and follow assembly procedures.
• Monitor product quality and report issues.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning; correct minor machine malfunctions.

Uses various hand and power tools and operates equipment which may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses in order to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements. Monitors quality of products and raw materials. May read simple blueprints. Performs simple routine maintenance and cleaning. Determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions. Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision.
