Job summary

Novanta, a global innovator powering healthcare and advanced manufacturing, is seeking an Assembler II in Irvine, CA. You will assemble and test components to create finished products, read and interpret assembly instructions and schematics, and ensure quality, efficiency and safety on the production line.

You will collaborate with the manufacturing team to meet production schedules, communicate issues promptly, and follow ISO and company policies.

Summary

As an Assembler II, you will be responsible for assembling and testing components to create finished products. You will collaborate with your team to ensure quality, efficiency, and safety in the production process. You will read and interpret assembly instructions, technical drawings and schematics.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final assembly inspections and report potential defects to shift leader or manager.
• Foster a high-performing team environment through daily communication with supervisor and colleagues in all manufacturing areas.
• Work with manufacturing team to meet production schedules, including overtime as required by production needs.
• Provide regular feedback to management regarding potential product and assembly process improvements.
• Comply with all company policies and programs, to include those regarding ethics, conduct, safety, security, ISO, and continuous improvement.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

• Have experience in assembly, testing, and operating machinery in manufacturing.
• Have mechanical abilities and a high level of precision.
• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, to include assembly instruction, is critical to success in the role.
• Ability to communicate verbally with team and management required.
• Strong attention to detail required.
• Demonstrated ability to function in a team environment required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions. (English language required.)

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour depending on the geographic market and experience.
