Job summary

Nordson Test & Inspection seeks an experienced individual to join our team in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will perform detailed measurements, data entry, interpretation of drawings, and assembly of mechanical components to OMS specs.

The role involves soldering, use of VOM, cable/harness work, testing, and adherence to NC processes in a production environment. We value precision, data accuracy, and the ability to work with hand tools, coatings, and curing ovens.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail for parts and measurements.
• MS Office proficiency and computer literacy.
• Enter data from measurements into a database.
• Read and interpret drawings and OMS instructions.
• Use small hand tools (crimpers, wire strippers, screwdriver, wire cutters).
• Solder and apply solder paste per J-610 standards.
• Solder and tin wires; use a Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM).
• Mix and apply materials and coatings.
• Monitor curing ovens.
• Use taps and dies correctly.
• Mate water connections/fittings to prevent leaks.
• Assemble mechanical assemblies to issued documentation.
• Audit material issued to a job.
• Create labels for assemblies per drawings or OMS specs.
• Comply with Non-Conformance (NC) process after training.
• Build cable/harness assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed measurement interpretation and data entry.
• Assemble mechanical components per drawings and OMS.
• Solder, tin wires and apply solder paste per J-610.
• Inspect and test using VOM and basic electrical tools.
• Monitor curing ovens and apply coatings/materials as specified.
• Assemble cable/harnesses and ensure water fittings leak-free.
• Audit material usage for each job and maintain labeling accuracy.
• Follow NC processes and maintain documentation integrity.

Summary Of The Role

• Need attention to detail for the parts and measurements as small changes have a large impact.
• Computer literacy and comfort using MS Office products
• Be able to correctly enter data taken during measurements and test into a database on a computer
• Be able to read and interpret drawings and work instructions (OMS)
• Able to use small hand tools, (crimpers, wire strippers, screwdriver, wire cutters, etc) with acceptable results
• Be able to solder and apply solder paste in accordance with J-610 standards.
• Able to solder and tin wires, (IPC not required) and be able to use a Volt-Ohm Meter
• Able to mix and apply materials and coatings
• Be able to use and monitor curing ovens
• Select and use taps and die correctly without damaging material
• Mating of water connections/fittings so that they do not leak
• Be able to correctly assemble Mechanical assemblies to released documentation
• Perform an audit of the material issued to a job
• Create labels as needed for assemblies to the drawings or OMS specifications
• After training, understand and comply with our Non-Conformance (NC) process.
• Be able to build cable/harness assemblies to the drawings or OMS.
