Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts and assemble finished products per customer specifications. You will secure required parts and supplies, set up the work area, and produce quality components with attention to safety and efficiency.

The role emphasizes good hand tool skills, basic math, and a willingness to participate in safety and continuous improvement programs. Candidates must be 18 or older and meet the minimum qualification requirements.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• 6 months of manufacturing/assembly experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup and follows prescribed assembly instructions.
• Fits parts together and uses hand tools to complete the assembly process.
• Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized and ensures equipment is safe to operate.
• Maintains production records and inspects materials and finished products.
• Participates in safety, continuous improvement, and quality programs.

Job Summary Assembler I is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

• Completes work area setup.
• Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards.
• Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
• Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product.
• Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
• Maintains production records as required.
• Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards.
• Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
• No minimum experience is required however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
