Purpose: The Assembler I is an entry-level position responsible for performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervisory Responsibilities: This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements: No formal education or experience required; prior carpentry experience is helpful. Must be able to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence, and effectively communicate verbally. Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure are necessary. Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
Work Environment / Physical Activity: Continuous standing, handling, reaching, talking, and hearing. Walking frequently. Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds continuously, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 100 pounds occasionally. Visual abilities required include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, and vibration. Noise levels are usually loud; hearing and eye protection are required.
