Overview

This position performs routine and repetitive tasks on basic subassemblies and checks parts for quality and function. This is the entry/trainee level position within the Assembler job family.

Duties And Responsibilities
  1. Working under a trainer, incumbent performs routine subassembly tasks such as assembling valves, switches, hand and foot controls, etc.
  2. Pulls parts from inventory and operates hand tools/equipment on a variety of large and small parts.
  3. Routinely follows work instructions to perform tasks, may be required to interpret the results of certain test procedures, and may troubleshoot and repair parts when necessary, referring situations outside of instructions to the Supervisor.
  4. Achieves and maintains quality and productivity standards while following safety guidelines. Must not pose a risk to self or others.
  5. Maintains acceptable dependability level.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and must have the ability to determine color codes on tubing and electrical wiring operations. Must also possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, some fractions, and ability to effectively read a ruler.
  • Demonstrated manual dexterity required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience preferred, but not required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise maneuver up to 35 pounds with or without assistance on a routine basis. Must have manual hand dexterity to grasp, operate tools and equipment repetitively. Able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, and occasionally kneel, climb steps, and twist throughout an entire shift. Some areas may be exposed to chemicals, noise, vibration and/or dust, and require the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); such as, but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, foot protection, etc.
