Job summary

GEA Group in York, PA is seeking an Assembler I to join our Production Team. You will perform electrical and mechanical assembly of units, with limited testing and preparation for shipment in a Lean Six Sigma environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic math, safety awareness, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Competitive pay in the $20–$26 per hour range plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred, not required; Vocational Degrees preferred.
  • Minimum experience: vocational training or less than 2 related assembly experience.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Safety rules comprehension.
  • Ability to sit, stand, reach, and walk on concrete for periods.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Dexterity to operate tools and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble standard vessels and heat exchangers to required specifications and budgets.
  • Assemble standard compressor packages and related mechanical components.
  • Operate CNC plasma cutting equipment and Quickmill machining center as needed.
  • Perform testing per drawings and specifications; assist with prep for shipment.

GEA Group, located in York, PA, is searching for an Assembler I to join our Production Team! As an Assembler, you will perform electrical and mechanical assembly of units which includes limited troubleshooting, testing, and preparing units for shipment in a Lean Six Sigma environment.

Responsibilities:
Standard Vessels and Heat Exchangers
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard separators, receivers, heat exchangers to required specifications and budgets.
  • Installs tubes in heat exchangers
  • Calculates tube reduction and executes tube rolling
  • Prepares water boxes and attaches to heat exchangers
  • Executes ASME testing per drawing instruction and special specifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Standard Compressor Packages
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Performs all mechanical assembly in the manufacture of compressor packages not welding related.
  • Performs all testing required per drawing instruction and special specifications
  • Performs all operations necessary to prepare and paint standard product.
  • Assembles control panels
  • Mounts control panel and install the wire harness
  • Performs control panel check out
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
CNC Plasma Cutting Equipment and Quickmill Machining Center
  • Performs all operations to required specifications and budgets.
  • Performs required programming
  • Loads raw materials
  • Unloads cut parts, deburr as necessary
  • Performs routine daily maintenance
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Your Profile / Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required; Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred
  • Minimum Experience: Vocation Training or Less than 2 related assembly experience
  • Basic math skills.
  • Comprehension of safety rules.
  • Sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and or machinery.

The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $20.00 - $26.00 per hour.

GEA Group has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States. The pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for the position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other job‑related reasons.
