Job summary

UFP Industries in Indiana (Nappanee) is seeking an Assembler I to fabricate component parts or assemble finished products per customer specifications. You will secure parts, set up the work area, and monitor quality during assembly.

The role emphasizes safe, orderly work practices, keeping accurate production records, and complying with all safety and quality procedures. Prior experience is not required, though basic math skills are helpful and 18+ years old applicants are welcome.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred but not required.
  • No minimum experience required; however, 6 months of manufacturing/assembling experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic math preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Completes work area setup.
  • Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and quality standards.
  • Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process.
  • Stacks completed products and may cover, label, and band components finished product as required.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area; ensures equipment is safe to operate.
  • Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports issues.
  • Maintains production records as required.
  • Checks materials and finished products for conformity to standards.
  • Adheres to safety and quality procedures and participates in CI programs.

Job Summary

Assembler I is responsible for fabricating component parts or assembling the finished product according to the customer's specifications. Secures and maintains correct component parts and supplies required for the operation.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Completes work area setup
  • Fits parts together in accordance with prescribed instructions and in accordance with quality standards
  • Operates hand tools as required to complete the assembly process
  • Stacks completed products in accordance with established procedures, and if required, may cover, label, and band components finished product
  • Ensures work area is safe, clean and organized, and that equipment is safe to operate
  • Completes pre-shift startup equipment inspection checklist and reports any problems or concerns
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment
  • Maintains production records as required
  • Checks materials and finished products to ensure they are compliant with standards
  • Performs duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
  • Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
