Job summary

Fleetwood Group is seeking an Assembler 1 for our Assembly Department in Michigan. The role focuses on assembling a wide variety of products and sub-assemblies using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and air tools, at a steady work rate to ensure quality and timely delivery.

You will read and follow documentation and instructions in English, perform basic math, and collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent work experience demonstrating competency.
• Reading and following written/verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to perform basic math and work cooperatively with the team.

Responsibilities

• Assembles products using basic hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and air tools.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Assembler 1

Division: Assembly Department

General Purpose:

Assembles of a wide variety of products and sub-assemblies using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and air tools. Work is performed in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work to provide high quality products completed and delivered in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:

• Assembles product using basic hand tools and techniques
• Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in the English language
• Follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible
• Maintains a clean, safe working environment
• Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications:

• One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Skills and Abilities:

• Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting
• Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals

Physical Demands

• Must have to the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assist
• Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift
