Job summary

Chicago Fittings Corp., the Beloit, Wisconsin location of A.Y. McDonald Manufacturing, seeks a manufacturing assembler/inspector. Responsibilities include operating presses, running the E-coat line, assembling and aligning parts, and inspecting output to meet tolerances.

Candidate should have 0-1 year in manufacturing, ability to read blueprints, and experience with calipers, micrometers, and measuring tools. General safety and quality practices apply.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment assembling and inspecting product.
• Ability to read blueprints/part prints.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometer, tape measure.
• Familiar with quality systems and SOPs/GMPs.
• Must be able to calibrate and perform functional testing.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operate Denison presses.
• Operate the E-coat system.
• Assemble, align, and adjust parts per specifications.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble units.
• Inspect product to ensure tolerances/quality.
• Repair or rework parts that fail tests.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Pack and label finished products.
• Read travelers and match with part labels.
• Clean and deburr product.
• Maintain clean, safe workspace.
• Perform other machine operations.

SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operation of Denison Presses.
• Operation of E-coat system.
• Assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to specifications and following manufacturing procedures.
• Use hand tools, power tools and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units.
• Inspection of product including visual, test and calibrating parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications and quality standards.
• Repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels.
• Keep accurate daily time and production records and enter data as required.
• Packing and Packaging of product.
• Print labels and look up locations of parts.
• Read travelers and associate/compare with part box labels.
• Cleaning/De-burring of product.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
• Other machine operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• General assembly operations.
• General inspection practices.
• Ability to read blueprints, part prints.
• Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometer, tape measure, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Understand, communicate, comprehend, and follow oral and written instructions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

0-1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment with responsibility for assembling and inspecting product; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, solve simple equations and calculate percentages. Ability to convert fractions in increments of 1/16 and convert to decimal number. Ability to use a calculator.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
