Job summary

FAST Global Solutions is seeking an Assembler at our Auburn, Nebraska location on the Day Shift (6:00 am – 4:30 pm). A $1,000 sign-on bonus is offered. This position involves assembling machines and sub-assemblies per blueprints using hand and power tools.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience, with good reading, math, and manual dexterity. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or 1–3 months related experience.
• Basic language and math skills expected.
• Must be able to stand/walk for a 10 hour shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Manual dexterity and a firm grasp are required.
• Must operate a foot pedal for machine operation.
• Pass a physical strength test.
• Color vision with depth perception required.
• Work environment may include varying temperatures and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings to determine requirements.
• Remove small quantities of metal to clean parts or fit parts precisely.
• Plan assembly procedures following specifications.
• Drill, tap, or ream holes.
• Align components and secure with bolts, screws, or rivets.
• Install moving parts and test free movement.
• Align and mesh gears in gearboxes for systems assembly.
• Test operation of the finished product.
• Prepare parts for shipping and packaging as needed.

Job summary:

This position assembles machines, equipment, and their sub-assemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. The assembler will use various types of hand and power tools.

Job duties and responsibilities:

• Reads and interprets blueprints and assembly drawings to determine specific assembly requirements.
• Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts.
• Plans assembly procedures, following specifications.
• Drills, taps, or reams holes.
• Aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together.
• Installs moving parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and works them to test free movement.
• Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble system of gears.
• Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product.
• Prepares parts for shipping into containers, bands items to pallets and performs other packaging as required.

Job Requirements:

• A qualified candidate will have a high school diploma, GED, or at least 1-3 months related experience.
• Must have basic language and math skills and reasoning ability.
• Must be able to stand and walk continuously and sit/reach/bend frequently over the course of a 10 hour shift.
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Must have manual dexterity and be able to maintain a frequent firm grasp.
• Must be able to operate a foot pedal for machine operation.
• Must be able to pass a physical strength test to perform the job.
• Color vision with depth perception is required.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and levels of humidity.
• Personal protective equipment will be provided by FAST and must be worn in the required areas.
