Job summary

SPX Technologies is hiring an Assembler (C) to help manufacture air handling equipment for industrial HVAC systems. You will follow blueprints, assemble components, and participate in multiple stations to support safety, quality, and schedule performance.

This role requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read assembly drawings, and teamwork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Applicants should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate related equipment safely.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly processes.
  • Ability to follow work instructions and blueprints accurately.
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring devices preferred.
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems.
  • Perform adjustments and fine-tuning for proper assembly.
  • Interpret blueprints, BOMs, and revisions accurately.
  • Assemble and install system components including fans, coils, dampers, and ducts.
  • Independently assemble complete air handling units from start to finish.
  • Assist with assembly of related system components and sections.
  • Apply proper fastening, sealing, and fit-up techniques.
  • Use hand and pneumatic tools safely; operate cranes and forklifts as needed.
  • Troubleshoot basic assembly issues and escalate complex ones.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Participate in cross-training across stations and processes.
  • Follow safety policies, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.

Shifts:

1st Shift: 5:30am - 2:00pm with daily and weekend OT as needed.

2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 1:00am with daily and weekend OT as needed.

Pay Rate:

$26.03

Plus Shift Differential for 2nd Shift:

$2.00 per hour

How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary)

The Assembler (C) will be responsible for working in the process of cooling tower manufacturing. The successful incumbent may work in various areas and may assume additional duties as assigned. The successful incumbent will be detail oriented, able to follow instructions well, and work well in a team atmosphere. The Assembler (C) is expected to develop foundational assembly skills, mechanical aptitude, product knowledge, and familiarity with assembly processes while contributing to safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance. The incumbent performs standardized and repetitive assembly tasks while learning blueprint interpretation, assembly techniques, associated with engineered-to-order air handling equipment.

What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
  • Assemble, adjust, and install prefabricated parts to manufacture air handling systems
  • Perform the various adjustments, settings, and fine-tuning operations necessary for assembly
  • Interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering revisions accurately
  • Assemble and install mechanical, structural, and modular system components including fan sections, coils, dampers, filter systems, access sections, electrical mounting components, and related assemblies
  • Independently assemble complete custom air handling units from start to finish using engineering drawings, specifications, and build orders
  • Assist with assembly of fan sections, coil sections, filter sections, dampers, and related air handling system components
  • Earn and apply proper assembly, fastening, sealing, gasketing, and fit-up techniques required for air handling equipment
  • Utilize hand tools, pneumatic tools, measuring devices, and standard assembly equipment safely and effectively operate overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and resolve simple assembly or fit-up issues while escalating more complex issues appropriately
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standards
  • Participate in cross-training activities to develop skills across multiple assembly stations and processes
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist in improving assembly efficiency and workflow
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

  • Ability to develop blueprint reading and assembly interpretation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment
  • Ability to adapt to changing production schedules and work assignments
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, attendance, and continuous improvement
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, mechanical assembly, construction, fabrication, or industrial experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude required
  • Previous experience using hand tools, pneumatic tools, or measuring devices preferred
  • Ability to learn blueprint reading and assembly processes required
  • Forklift, crane, or man lift certification preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality standards required
