Job summary

ABB in Portland, TN is seeking an assembler to perform visual quality inspections and packaging tasks. The role reports to a Production Supervisor and requires lifting up to 40 lbs and following standard work instructions.

Training and cross-training opportunities are available as part of a supportive manufacturing team. Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and may have limited related work experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one month or less of similar or related work experience
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, write identifying information, request parts or supplies verbally or in writing.

  • Perform visual quality inspections of the product.
  • Place product in box with appropriate count in each box.
  • Label products and boxes.
  • Tape boxes.
  • Lift and carry boxes up to 40 lbs.
  • Monitor equipment operation.
  • Assist in training new employees.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion (5S).
  • Follow standard work instructions.
  • Participate in Lead Manufacturing efforts and Kaizen events.
  • Cover other positions following appropriate training, as needed.
