Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented assembler to join our Wisconsin manufacturing team. You will assemble parts with guidance from verbal instructions, verify quality using basic inspection tools, and help build prototypes with Engineering support.

As a team member, you may need to obtain riveting certification and complete blueprint reading training. This role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to specs, and collaboration with coworkers on the line.

Qualifications

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic with money, weight, volume and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to train and work with others (team concept).

Responsibilities

  • Assembles parts with the aid of verbal instructions, print(s) or sample parts.

  • Assembles prototypes with Engineering help.
  • Inspects parts for cosmetic specifications.
  • Where required, must achieve certification in riveting.
  • Must be qualified to assemble at every station and process on the assembly line.
  • Must successfully complete basic blueprint reading class.

  • Assembles parts with the aid of verbal instructions, print(s) or sample parts.
  • Uses various types of riveting devices, hand tools, air guns and power devices to assemble parts.
  • Checks parts for quality and accuracy using basic inspection devices such as micrometers, verniers, scales, squares and gages.
  • Assembles prototypes with Engineering help.
  • Inspects parts for various types of cosmetic specifications.
  • Where required, must achieve certification in riveting.
  • Must be qualified to assemble at every station and process on the assembly line.
  • Must successfully complete basic blueprint reading class.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Other Qualifications: Ability to train and work with others (team concept).
