Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring for a hands-on Assembler to build high-quality air conditioning units in a manufacturing setting. You will work on a fast-paced team using hand and power tools, following blueprints and work instructions to meet production standards.

The role offers a 2nd shift schedule, with a 3:30 PM–12:00 AM shift, and a base pay of $18.28 per hour plus a $1.50 premium. A quarterly bonus up to 5% of salary earned each quarter is available based on performance and results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills; military experience or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and finished products using hand and power tools.
• Follow blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify and report defects or production issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area (5S).
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Use basic computer systems to track production and inventory.
• Follow all safety policies and wear required PPE.
• Support overtime and production demands as needed.

We are currently hiring for 2nd shift. Available schedules include:

• 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM

Pay: $18.28 per hour

Additional earning opportunities include:

• 2nd Shift Premium: +$1.50 per hour
• Quarterly Bonus: Eligible for up to 5% of salary earned each quarter based on performance and business results
• Overtime Pay: Available based on production needs (including Saturday as needed)

Basic Function

Assembles air conditioning units and components using hand and power tools, following blueprints and work instructions to meet quality and production standards.

The employee is regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment, including noise, dust, and moving equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in a non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving hands and arms
• Ability to work in a noisy and industrial setting
• Ability to work overtime as required

HIRING HOURLY RANGE

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $18.28 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
