Job summary

ABB is seeking a Production role in the Columbus, MS area. The candidate will support the assembly department in meeting production targets by following established systems and processes. You will read and interpret technical diagrams and operate shop floor machinery to assemble products and systems.

The role requires flexibility to train and perform multiple positions within the assembly department, with manual work and light hand-tool use as needed. ABB champions equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

  • 6 months of Industrial type experience or military service, or in lieu of industrial experience, vocational/ technical high school and technical college courses.
  • Previous motor experience preferred.
  • Candidates must have a work authorization that would permit them to work in the United States.

This position reports to:

Production Supervisor

Your role and responsibilities

Supports the department in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Uses machinery and equipment on the shop floor. Reads and interprets the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels.

  • Training and/or performing multiple positions within the assembly department.
  • Reading and following special instructions, critical parameters, and work instructions.
  • Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.
