Job summary

Allegion in Princeton, IL is seeking anAssembler for 1st shift (Tue–Fri 4:30 am – 3 pm) to assemble components across multiple lines using hand and power tools, and testing equipment. You will help ensure quality, document issues, and track production metrics in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED (optional), familiarity with assembly techniques, basic computer literacy, and the ability to work overtime or cross-train as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (OPTIONAL REMOVE IF APPLICABLE TO MANUFACTURING SITE).
• Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and equipment.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and testing equipment effectively.
• Ability to produce parts and products to meet quality standards.
• Ability to be flexible in role, adjusting to new processes, technologies, or production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble basic components using hand tools and equipment that is engineered for light assembly.
• Perform repetitive assembly tasks with precision, such as attaching, labeling, and packaging parts.
• Inspect products for defects and ensure they meet quality and functionality standards.
• Document issues encountered during assembly using tools and standards to verify product quality and functionality.
• Track and document production metrics, such as completed units or defects.
• Identify and segregate defective parts for review and document quality issues.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, use PPE, and report potential hazards.
• Perform basic equipment checks.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, engineers, and quality control to address challenges and improve processes.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to report issues and provide updates.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and store tools and equipment properly.
• Follow step-by-step written or verbal instructions.
• Be flexible by working overtime, cross-training, and adapting to new processes or technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
